Note – The Prairie is about 45 minutes from Malta and the two ranches on the Prairie are about 45 minutes
apart. Be prepared to drive around a lot. AWD/4WD is necessary.
Bring bug spray for the mosquitoes and all-weather gear for outdoor activities. Donations greatly appreciated
for the really fun silent auction.

Saturday afternoon, grab your deluxe sack lunch and head to the Sun Prairie Unit, 27,000 acres with 450
bison. We will see the bison handling facility and hear from Ken Klemm, NBA President, long time bison rancher,
grazing specialist and consultant. Ken will be speaking on grassland monitoring and ecological processes.
Saturday evening (along with another great bison dinner), Jim Matheson from the NBA will present. There will be a brief MBA business meeting with a vote on the mission / vision statement for the bylaws. Really Fun Silent Auction Closes – Cash Check and Cards accepted. Have fun bidding!
Sunday morning, we will have breakfast at the White Rock Ranch and then tour some of the 30,000 acres.
This ranch has 380 bison. We will discuss herd social structure, fences, water, grazing model, and wildlife
habitat relationships.
